Author Interview- Vaishnavi Mungse

Author interview-

1) Can you tell us a little about your book ?

My book “SHADES OF LIFE” is a poetry collection which has six chapters expressing realistic shades of emotions like peace, sorrow, happiness and sadness in an articulate and heart-warming manner.

2) Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea  ?

There was no such specific event that inspired me to write the book, it were just my pure and lucid feelings and emotions that inspired me to do so.it was all unexpected .And the book practically says it all, that life is full of ups and downs and uncertainty heading your way. All we can do is accept the reality and carry on.

3) What got you writing in the first place ?

I was 10 when I wrote my first poem, ‘sunshine’. It was then when I realised that words have the power to express so much more than one can imagine. When emotions flooded inside me, I needed a medium to get them out and that medium turned out to be poems, they help me portray each of my emotions in a fluid manner.

4) What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?

First of all, happiness overflowed inside me after reading the first draft. I felt confident as it is my very first book and the desire to keep on writing more poems grew. It was a wholesome experience, seeing the draft carrying my few years of experience and emotions getting published. This will now be seen and heard by many others.

5) Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?

No such particular part is connected to me, as the whole poem/book is the result of my very own journey until here. I even speculate that everyone goes through the same stories once in their life but everyone has a different narration of theirs. So at the core, it’s all connected together!

6) What makes your book the one to read ?

The book contains poems so realistic. The poems are very near and dear to the heart. As all humans undergo the same experience, emotions, feelings, and trauma which I tried to portray in my poems in coherent way. That’s the point that one should give a try to my book. As I said before it’s all connected to the core of each other’s life hence, we all find relief when we see or read the same happenings as ours. As it tells us that we are not the only ones undergoing the same.

7)What was the best advice you got while writing?

The best advice I got while writing was, “Just keep on writing, don’t hurry things just because you want to complete the book and get it published as soon as possible, instead find a good motivation and write things down and improvise the same.” I was constantly kept motivated by my bystanders, family, friends which kept my steadfast dedication on track.

8) Who’s your all time favorite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?

My all-time favourite author is Paulo Coelho. His book “THE ALCHEMIST” made me fall in love with his literary works.

9)  What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there ?

As a progressing young writer I tip to the young writers out there that feel free to write your heart out and not be shy, because along with being imaginative one must also be realistic, as your real work can fetch more eyes.

10) Do you have another plot brewing?

For now, there isn’t any plot brewing for my next book, I’ll think about this in future. For now, I hope for success of my book and I wish the same will progress in the future.
