1. Can you tell us a little about your book? 

This book, “Malini and the Car festival” is about a seven-year-old girl Malini, enjoying the car festival. The book takes us through the chariot, crowd, crackers and the carnival rides. A colorful book with lively portrayal will be a feast to the eyes and ears of kids. For adults, this book is a reminiscence of their childhood memories.  

 

2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?

Car festival is one event I have relished and cherished during my childhood days. When I chose to write a story, this became the best bet as Car festival is extremely close to my heart.

 

3. What got you writing in the first place?

Passion for Writing

 

4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it? 

I felt confident and elated.

 

5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why? 

Malini and her cousins on the terrace as that was exactly me with my cousins.

 

6. What makes your book the one to read? 

Kids and Adults will enjoy this book as this would be a new, colorful experience. For adults this book is a nostalgia.

 

7. What was the best advice you got while writing

Focus on the target age group

 

8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?

Sydney Sheldon-Master of the Game



9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?

10. What was your hardest scene to write?

Malini and her mom’s conversations during midnight
