Author Interview- Isha Dutta

1. Can you tell us a little about your book?
Well, my book is a story of Samaira and Krish-- childhood best friends who later fall in love with each other only to fall apart after a series of misunderstandings. However when everyone thought that nothing more was left in their story that's when Destiny brings them back together.
The basic idea behind this book is that when two people are destined to be together no matter what happens their love will always find its way.

2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out-of-the-blue idea?
Not anything in particular. I have always read stories, seen dramas, and witnessed some real-life couples around me experiencing something similar. Though each of them had a different story to tell the bottom line that I found similar in all of them is that if Destiny wants them together with little effort anyone can their fairytale love story.

3. What got you writing in the first place?
I used to read fan fiction on several other writing sites for fun. But then one day I tried writing one because test my creative side just for fun. And then one book turned into two, then three, and by the end of 2022 I have written more than 25 stories (fanfiction and general fiction) on various writing sites. And finally, I decided to publish the first story that I ever penned down in a way better version.

4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
Though it wasn't anything close to being perfect somehow I felt content and satisfied with the way the story was shaping up. The characters were chaotic but they felt human and had their share of mistakes. I never intended to make a perfect or unique story but wanted to create characters that we have met, or have come across in our daily lives. My first draft somehow succeeded in creating such normal human characters who are far from being perfect but with little effort even they too would be able to create their own fairytale.

5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
The chapter where Krish is praying to Lord Mahadev for some miracle to happen. Since I am a devotee of Lord Mahadev I have experienced certain situations where things that happened were nothing less than miracles because of the blessing of Lord Mahadev. So that part of the story is something that I connect with the most because I have personally experienced such situations for real.

6. What makes your book the one to read?
I can't say my book is extremely unique or it's something that had never been talked about before. But the way I have tried to present my book in front of the readers will make all the difference. Hopefully, my readers would like my attempt in creating a world that is quite similar to the world that we all live in.

7. What was the best advice you got while writing?
Just write with honesty and give your 100%. Everything else will fall into place on its own.

8. Who’s your all-time favorite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
J.K.Rowling and Stephenie Mayer. Both these writers have created worlds of their own. One wrote about wizardry and the other wrote about Vampires and Werewolves. But the thing which I find common in both is that both of them succeeded in connecting with their readers because even though they were more fantasy stories yet the emotions which were experienced by their respective characters were quite relatable. They both succeeded in maintaining a balance between fiction and relatability. Readers were able to connect with their protagonists and all of us fall in love with them.

9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
Be honest and pour your heart out while writing your content and you will connect with your readers on a different level altogether. You and your writing style are unique in their own way. And there in no one else like you.

10.  What was your hardest scene to write?
The final chapter. Especially the scene where Nandini request Samaira and Krish to get married.

11. Do you have another plot brewing?
Since there are two more parts to go in this story I would want to focus on that. Yes, I do have another plot in my mind but it would have to wait for a while until I finish writing this trilogy.
