1) Can you tell us a little about your book?
This book is journey of author’s emotions travelling from soul to soul, in a beautiful yet astonishing way.
Its a collection of thoughts, words and feelings left unsaid, recounting the wistful memories that have stayed with the Author since last 15 years. These poems, penned down in thoughts of a young love, and the days gone by, mostly find their way through the pen on to the paper usually around the hour of midnight.
2) Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?
The unbridled emotions flowing through the mind while winding down the day, the poetic winds of the night sky, as well the thoughts of love and longing that the moon induces has resulted in the poems being penned which make up the book. It gives the reader a window into author’s mind, to understand the emotions, which couldn’t be expressed to the ones the words are meant for.
3) What got you writing in the first place?
I have been writing right since my school days when as a part of competition one of my poems was published in the school magazine in 8th standard, but since then I have made writing my ally, as a way of expressing my emotions and channelling my feelings.
4) What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
I felt a surge of powerful emotions coursing through the words, making them come alive, as if they are whispering to the stars in the night sky and asking the moon to deliver the message to the loved one.
5) Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
All of the poems are arts of my mind with my heart being poured into them, with these poems, I have stayed true to my heart, felt the rush of a young love and kept the memories of days gone by alive.
6) What makes your book the one to read?
Anyone who hasn’t been able to say all the things to their loved ones that they wanted to say, or anyone who has lost someone near and dear will connect with the book. The author hopes that through this book he is able to convey the words he couldn’t say earlier, and his words reach the right recipient now.
7) What was the best advice you got while writing?
“Don’t reserve the emotions, to let the pen befriend the paper, to let the emotions flow and not wait for the right words, but just let them form by themselves.”
8) Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
Agatha Christie, the portrayal of her characters and the mystery surrounding them creates an entirely new and exciting world for the readers.
9) What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
Just be true to yourself and believe in the story you are telling. Words have a way of stitching themselves together.
10) What was your hardest scene to write?
All of the poems were equally hard to write because they were penned down when the author was overcome with emotions and needed an outlet to vent it all out. However if 1 poem needs to be chosen, then the one most difficult was “The World Scorns” where the poet has portrayed how he is being perceived by the world. Seeing one-self from someone else’s eyes and trying to describe it was the most difficult journey.
11) Do you have another plot brewing?
Right now it’s too soon to think about writing another book, but I have been writing a few short stories over the past few years, they are yet to take concrete shape, might compile them into a book sometime soon.
