1. Can you tell us a little about your book?
This book is a suspense thriller filled with surprise and odious events with a touch of horror. It’s actually about a guy who happens to be an eyewitness to an event that the Police is handling. Now this guy wants to help the Police if only they promise that they'll help him back. And now the entire story is about what help he needs and what actually bothers him.
2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea ?
I would say it was kind of both. One night, I had a vision out of nowhere, and in that vision or dream whatever you call it I saw myself. And then, that vision became the plot of my story.
3. What got you writing in the first place?
Well, I remember telling my best friend about that dream of mine that I saw that night. And obviously at that time it was pretty hard to understand, so I told my friend that one day I would pen this down in a proper way so that it becomes easier for you or anybody who reads it. So I would say that dream itself was the driving force that made me write this book, because I wanted people to know what I saw.
4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
Actually to be honest, I was pretty impressed with myself. I mean although I have been writing short stories but this was something that I had never done before. I mean writing down the very first chapter of my book was entirely a different emotion for me. But when it was complete I was kind of proud of myself. And the major reason behind that was because the people whom I shared my first draft with. They all were very impressed with my work. And that somehow pushed me to move forward.
5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
Reading my book, when you move forward you'll see that in the beginning of most of the chapters there's a philosophical pep talk or I would rather say a philosophical briefing of the chapter. And that is the part that connect the most with me because that is something that I personally believe. I mean when I talk about God, when I talk about hope that is something that wasn't framed, that is something I believe as a person.
6. What makes your book the one to read?
I think my book is totally worth a reader's time because it is filled with surprises. Every chapter you read, right from the beginning will make you curious, you won't be able to let go of it once you start reading it. Every chapter ends in a way that you feel like I think I should start reading the next one too because the suspense will keep on building, and you can't wait to know what's happening.
7. What was the best advice you got while writing?
There was a moment during the initial days of my writing part, I guess after the second or third chapter where I felt like I was stuck. I had so many random ideas in my head but I just couldn't decide how to proceed ahead and so I started feeling that I should probably give up on this and go back to writing short stories. But then my cousin sister who lives in the US and a really close friend of mine, they both kept motivating me, they told me that I was doing exceptionally well and that I should just finish what I had started. So yeah, this was the best advice that I have received and I thank both of them for supporting me like this.
8. Who’s your all time favorite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
I know it might sound a bit odd, but I haven't read many books. I mean I don't really have a habit of reading books but definitely there are two authors that I would like to mention who are my favorites. First is J.K Rowling of course. I mean the world thanks her for the Harry Potter series, I mean it’s something beyond magic literally. I am huge fan of her imagination and her way of writing. And second would be Daniel Handler aka Lemony Snicket for the series “A series of Unfortunate events and All the wrong Questions” that includes thirteen novels I guess. I am a huge fan the way he writes, intriguing and witty at the same time.
9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
I feel that I am no one to give advices, this is too soon for that because I myself need advices I believe. But yeah there's something I would like to tell them and that is just don't give up on your writing skills. I mean the world is running out of humour, love, humanity, sanity and what not and in these difficult times. We need writers and poet, we need people who write about God, who write about love, who write about hope and literally write about anything and everything that can bring us all close to each other. Trust me words do make a difference.
10. Do you have another plot brewing?
Umm, I can say that I have a few random ideas in my head that I have penned down but it will take me some time to be sure about those ideas. So no, not yet.
